Luis Barragan

(Guadalajara, 1902 – Città del Messico, 1988)

Luis Barragán was a Mexican architect renowned for his ability to integrate landscape as a compositional element in the design of his buildings. Among his most important commissions, the Pedregal project, a district of villas and gardens designed on lava fields on the outskirts of Mexico City. Here, he proposed a reckless vision for both architecture and interiors. He designed simple and courageous design pieces aimed at returning and renewing a simpler approach to life, seasoned with a dose of emotion and recollection.
