Vilhelm Lauritzen

(1894 - 1984)

Among the most influential Danish architects and designers, Vilhelm Lauritzen is one of the key-figures of Scandinavian functionalism. He designed some of the most popular and appreciated Danish buildings, including the Radiohuset and the first Kastrup airport, considered unmistakable models of contemporary life. He often designed furniture and lighting for his buildings, while studying lightweight and diffuse illumination capable of creating soft interplays of light and shadow.
