Paolo de Poli

(Padova, 1905 – 1956)

A master of enamel on copper, Paolo De Poli gave a new life to this ancient process by extending its application to furniture. His collaboration with Gio Ponti was significant and he managed to translate his slender and ingenious drawings into three-dimensional objects with bright colors and fun shapes. After reaching an autonomous role as draftsman-designer, he industrially produced a number of objects, including vases and handles.
